Five reasons why I love being an Honorary Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) Advisor

1. My contribution as an African frontline nurse and Global Health Consultant is appreciated and valued. I feel part of the THET family.

2. THET has been a leading organisation in recognising innovation in diaspora workforce, their report Experts in the Midst amplifies and validates our contribution and our diaspora voices.

3. Through THET I have been able to expand my networks, leveraging on my development. I am particularly grateful to my global engagement with colleagues from Zimbabwe, Myanmar and Somaliland, Department of Health and Social Care. as well as a host of UK diaspora organisations.

4. I love contributing my knowledge on scope and structure of health partnerships or grant selections, here my views on localization and cultural appropriateness are hugely valued and sought after.

5. I love that THET’s founder, Sir Edridge Parry carved out his remarkable legacy in global health, in doing so challenged us all to re-think through our own legacies. He was a great supporter of African women in global health.I hope mine is a legacy in global mental health.
